Other contemporary repertoire ‘Overture to Orpheus’ by Dutch minimalist LOUIS ANDRIESSEN, EARLE BROWN’s ‘9 Rarebits’, JOHN CAGE/ERIK SATIE ‘Sonnekus’,  GYORGY LIGETI’S virtuoso harpsichord piece ‘Continuum’, STEVE REICH’s ‘Electric Counterpoint’ for guitar and  GIACINTO SCELSI’s CKCKC for voice and mandoline.




Brought up in Harlow Sara studied  piano privately with Virginia Black and left Essex on a scholarship to study at the ROYAL COLLEGE OF MUSIC.   As a student there she won the coveted INTER-COLLEGE RAYMOND RUSSELL HARPSICHORD PRIZE and the RCM continuo prize.
Along side her love of early music, Sara developed an interest in contemporary  music at the RCM.  She joined the New London Chamber Choir and started singing new music with composer/conductor/percussionist JamesWood.  
Sara then moved to Italy where she was awarded a British Council Training Bursary to study singing in Milan.  She worked with many Italian composers throughout Italy, including Luciano Berio, Franco Oppo and Franco Donatoni.   Sara completed her vocal studies with Peter Harrison in London and Porto.
Well known for her work with lutenist/hurdy gurdy player Matthew Spring and with Sirinu with whom she regularly performs, Sara has performed at major British Music Festivals: Bath, Spitalfields,  Almeida,  Norfolk and Norwich, York, Beverley, Bruges, Utrecht, Bornholm, Bradford,  Bradford, Cheltenham, Truro, Glasgow, Stratford, Wycombe, South Bank Centre – Meltdown, ICA – MuICA, Sonorities – Belfast, Oxford, Sheffield, Huddersfield, The Place – London and Gregynog.
Herperformances of new music have taken her to  contemporary music festivals  in Darmstadt, Dusseldorf, Greece, Bonn, Vienna, Paris, Milan, Rome, Turin, Como, Palestrina, Nicosia, Sassari, Latina, Florence, Naples, Cagliari and Pantelleria.
Sara has made tours to South America, North Africa, Japan,  Europe, the Crimea and Russia.   She has toured for Early Music Network in Britain and Holland with Sirinu, the Broadside Band and Chalemie.  She has most recently sung on a MAKING MUSIC tour with early music quartet Galliarda.
Her other  collaborations include work with the Academy of Ancient Music, New London Consort,  Sinfonye, Taverner Consort, the Dufay Collective,  Rose Consort,   CERM, Cagliari New Music, Musicus Concentus, Logos Ensemble and the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra.
Theatre work:   Royal Shakespeare Company (‘King John’),  Oxford Stage Company (‘The Tempest’) and the Covent Garden Venture.
